"description": "As of its 0.16.0, Zig links its own libc, whose `strnlen` (lib/c/string.zig)\nintroduces a regression. When passed `INT_MAX` as `max`, it expects an `INT_MAX`\nslice as opposed to treating `max` as the upper limit of how far to look.\nThat scan has no page-boundary guard,\nso it keeps issuing vector loads past the terminating NUL. When a string ends\nwithin one vector width of a page boundary, a load reaches into the next page\nand the process is terminated with SIGSEGV. libgit2 reaches this from\n`packed_write_ref` while rewriting `packed-refs` -\n`git_filebuf_printf(file, \"%s %s\\n\", oid, ref->name)` - which crashes\n`radicle-node` during fetches in production.\n\n- Zig is still used for the macOS targets: there the C library comes from the\nmacOS SDK, not from Zig, so those binaries are unaffected.\n- x86_64 is the builder's own architecture, so it is built natively with\nAlpine's gcc and musl and needs no configuration at all.",
